Sweden's best rest areas 2013

For the 12th year in a row, Motormännen has scored and listed the country's rest areas. "The rest area assessment is an important part of Motormännen's road safety work. Good rest areas encourage necessary breaks for rest and recovery. Fatigue at the wheel is a common cause of accidents, comparable to accidents related to alcohol", says Erik Kjellin of Motormännen in a press release.

On the way home from Gothenburg, we stopped at the Vista Kulle rest area by Lake Vättern. Here we had a fantastic view of the water while we cooked some food. Isn't it wonderful with a motorhome, you change the view when you feel like it and get a lake view when you want it!

Changing tyres on a motorhome

If you have winter tyres on your motorhome, it's time to change the tyres. (At least we thought so, but last night it started snowing again...) We got the winter tyres when we bought the motorhome second-hand in autumn 2008. We haven't used them in previous winters, as we have kept the motorhome over the winter months. This year we changed to winter tyres for the first time.

Yesterday we travelled over the Högakustenbron. Högakustenbron is a suspension bridge over the river Ångermanälven, which is really impressive. The free span is Sweden's longest and the pylons make the bridge one of Sweden's tallest structures.
