Why travel to Poland?
Poland is an exciting and beautiful country that offers both beautiful cities and wonderful nature. Visit such gems as Gdansk, Krakow, Torun, Wroclaw and Poznan to see beautiful buildings and historic squares.
Along the Baltic Sea coast, there are long stretches of fine sandy beaches suitable for sunbathing, swimming and water sports. To the south are the Tatra Mountains, for those who enjoy hiking. Slowinski National Park
Welcome to the Polish Sahara! Today this is a national park near Leba in northern Poland. We looked for this one in 2018 but ran out of time and moved on, but next time.
Bialystok
Take a castle tour and check out Branicki Palace., Lubomirski Castle, Hasbach Castle and Nowik Palace. The bison grass vodka called Zubrowka is also made here.
Gniezno
Gnesen as it is called in Sweden and after we have been there and fought in the 30 years war. Gniezno is the first capital of Poland before it was moved in 1038 to Krakow. Must be experienced historically in Poland!
Bydgoszcz
A city in northern Poland and two hours south of Gdansk. Don't miss (Stare Miastro) old town, or what you see in the picture above Śródmieście- district and The eagle hotel.
The Brda River runs through the city and it's pretty cool that the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra House is one of the best in Europe.
The medieval city of Lublin
Lublin is known for its greenery and has a high standard of living. Old Town and Gate of Krakow, Musical Theatre, Lublin castle and Plac Po Farze we are happy to discover.
Zamosc in Poland
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992 and an outstanding Renaissance city by the Italian architect Bernardo Morando. The main square is considered one of the most beautiful 17th century squares in Europe.

Kamienczuk and Szklarka waterfalls
In the area of Szklarska Poręba in south-west Poland, bordering the Czech Republic, are the waterfalls. There is also a much talked about Golden Pit (Zlota Jama) cave.
There are two camping towns where you can stay while visiting the waterfalls called "Kamieńczyk" and "Szałas Sielanka".
Ksiaz Castle in Walbrzych
This is where you look for Hitler's stashes and all the gold. There are several tunnels under the castle and it's full of mystery.
Karpacz in Poland
A town in south-west Poland and the border with the Czech Republic. A cool spa town and ski resort. The Poles are Catholics and the families are large. Funparks are the best for them and there is also a large Fairytale Park in the ski resort of Karkonosze.
Ogrodzieniec Castle
We should probably call the castle a ruin but it seems super cool, and just like the ancient ruins in Ireland and Scotland. It is located 66 km (about 1 h 12 min) northwest of Krakow.
Katowice, Poland
Poland's black pearl because it is a mining town. There is always something more when you dig and here is the wooden church of St Michael the Archangel.
Niedzica Castle in Poland
The castle is also known for Dunajec Castle, and known for being built during the Polish-Hungarian relations of 1320-1326.
Auschwitz-Birkenau
The place you get angry and sad about that is in the Oświęcim but you have to visit these places to remember what can happen. The largest concentration camp of the Second World War. Included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979.
National Park Ojcow & Pieskowa
Outside Krakow is a cool national park not to be missed.
Rzeszow in Poland
To the east of Krakow is the town of Rzeszow. with magnificent buildings such as Rzeszow Castle, City Hall and Siemiaszkowa Theatre. Here you can also take a tour of underground cellars from the Middle Ages.
Beskid Niski Orthodox Church
Between Poland and Slovakia there are 16 wooden churches in the Beskid lowlands around the Carpathians. If you're looking for nature, you've come to the right place! Included in UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.

There will probably be a trip down through Poland to the Czech Republic and Prague etc. this summer. Reading up on your tips now. Do you still have plans for "company trips" in that direction?
PS. Maybe we'll see you at the fair in Kista. Thinking about going there.

Thanks for great guide about Poland! Do you know where they say about dogs? In campsites, beaches and restaurants?
The Germans are very friendly to dogs, fingers crossed that the Poles are too... 🙂.

Glad you like our guide Pernilla! We have not travelled with dogs ourselves, but we have met many dogs at the campsites in Poland so it does not seem to be a problem. When it comes to beaches and restaurants, I do not dare to answer.
